Browns Finalizing Deal with Jameis Winston

Winston to Replace Flacco as Starting Quarterback

Thompson-Robinson Shines in Hall of Fame Game

The Cleveland Browns are reportedly finalizing a one-year deal with quarterback Jameis Winston, who will take over as the team's starting quarterback after the departure of Joe Flacco.

Winston, 29, has spent the last four seasons with the New Orleans Saints, where he started 27 games and threw for 5,421 yards, 33 touchdowns, and 30 interceptions. He has a career passer rating of 84.4.

Flacco, 37, started 17 games for the Browns last season, throwing for 2,438 yards, 13 touchdowns, and nine interceptions. He was released by the team earlier this offseason.

The Browns also welcomed rookie quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson to the spotlight during Thursday night's Hall of Fame Game. The undrafted free agent from UCLA impressed with his performance, completing 7 of 10 passes for 78 yards and a touchdown.

Since their return to the NFL in 1999, the Browns have had a revolving door at the quarterback position, featuring 14 different starters. Some of the more notable quarterbacks to play for the Browns include Tim Couch, Derek Anderson, Brian Hoyer, and Colt McCoy.

In other Browns news, former Panther running back Chuba Hubbard is expected to make his eighth NFL start on Sunday against the Washington Commanders. Hubbard, who spent the last three seasons in Carolina, will look to make an impact in the Cleveland backfield.
